"Bambukat"* is a 2016 Punjabi-language film directed by Pankaj Batra. It is a drama set in the 1960s rural Punjab and revolves around the themes of social class, love, and family.

The story centers on Channan Singh (played by Ammy Virk), a humble and kind-hearted young man who belongs to a lower socio-economic class. He is deeply in love with Pakko (played by Simi Chahal), a simple girl from a similar background. Pakko's family, however, has aspirations of marrying her off to someone of higher status, making their relationship a complicated one.

The plot thickens when Pakko's sister, Sammi (played by Binnu Dhillon), marries a well-off and boastful man named Resham Singh (played by Sardar Sohi). Resham Singh owns a "Bambukat" (a colloquial term for a motorcycle), which symbolizes wealth and prestige in the village. This leads to a rivalry between Channan and Resham, as Channan decides to prove himself by acquiring his own motorcycle to win over Pakko's family and elevate his status.

The film follows Channan's journey as he faces various challenges and societal pressures while trying to fulfill his dream. It highlights the disparities between social classes and the lengths to which individuals go to gain respect and approval from society.

"Bambukat" is a mix of comedy, drama, and romance, with a strong message about the importance of self-worth and the dangers of superficial judgments based on material possessions. The film was well-received for its performances, especially by Ammy Virk and Simi Chahal, as well as its nostalgic depiction of rural Punjab in the 1960s.
